Hiroyuki Nakamura

Hiroyuki Nakamura received his PhD from Tohoku University under Professor Yoshinori Yamamoto in 1996. He was an assistant professor at Kyushu University (1995-1997) and Tohoku University (1997-2002). During this period, he was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh with Professor D. Curran (2000-2001). He became an associate professor at Gakushuin University in 2002 and was promoted to professor in 2006. In 2013, he joined Tokyo Institute of Technology as a professor.

His awards include the Chemical Society of Japan Award for Young Chemists (1999), the Incentive Award of the Japanese Society for Molecular Targeted Therapy of Cancer (2007), and the Society of Pure and Applied Coordination Chemistry Award (2022). He served as president of the Japanese Society of Neutron Capture Therapy (2015-2019) and holds various roles in academic societies.

His research focuses on synthetic methodology, medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, and boron neutron capture therapy.
