Pavel Matějíček

Current position: Professor at Faculty of Science, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic.

Pavel Matějíček received his PhD in macromolecular chemistry at Charles University in 2005. He studied not only in Prague, but also in Germany (TU Dresden, TU Berlin, and University of Göttingen) and in the frame of scientific cooperation at other Universities and Institutes in Europe.

He has a long-term interest in self-assembly and co-assembly of block copolymers and other amphiphiles in solution studied by diverse experimental techniques. He is a renowned expert and pioneer in the field of physical chemistry of boron cluster compounds, especially in their association, solution behavior and interactions with polymers and nanostructures. He is currently dealing with the design of new amphiphiles and macromolecules based on anionic boron cluster compounds.
